Help me choose a haircut!

Tue May 5, 2009, 1:16 AM
I need a new hair cut and I've got a blank canvas to work with here. I suck at choosing a hairstyle which is why I had the mohawk for so long, it was easy and it looked good (imo) but now I need something a bit more professional but I don't want to have to spend an hour (or 10 mins.) in the bathroom fixing it up. Nothing crazy short either.

Anyone have any ideas? I just dyed it brown again tonight so here's some pics:

(there black and white cause the pics made me look like a ginger lol, so just imagine a dark brown color ;) )

Nichts zu danken! :aww:
Anytime ;)
Just curious, how would you say a DMC-FZ28 compares to a D40 or D40x, as far as photo quality, color, and how wide you can get it? Knowing those are the most important things to me, do you think I'd find myself disappointed with the FZ28?

Honk if you're tired of the US government ignoring the constitution!
not at all, I loved that little camera, the zoom was great and it took awesome pics. I cant compare the wide angle of the lens cause on the D40 their interchangeable, the quality is better on the D40 but the FZ28 had 12 megapixels compared to the D40's 6 so you can crop in a little closer with it.

If you want to get into photography but don't want to spend alot of money then go with a prosumer like the Lumix or if you don't mind spending the extra money and you know that your gonna be getting really into photography then Id go with a DSLR like the D40

Well, I guess what I mean is, how would you compare a bare bones d40 with the kit lens, to the fz28? I'm trying to decide between a new FZ28 or a used D40, D40x, or D60 if I'm lucky. But the most I want to spend is about $300. Really all I want is something that can get a pretty good wide view without shelling out money for a wide lens, along with enough quality to do professional grade matte paintings. So what do you think my best bet is? For some reason I think I'm starting to lean towards a DSLR (maybe), especially with the knowledge that I can always shoot panoramas. I guess that leaves the question, is the kit lens any good? ...and of course goes back to my first question of bare bones D40 vs FZ28. Hmm...

Sorry if I'm starting to annoy you with my long comments. Hopefully soon I will have decided and will be able to quit annoying everybody about my indecision.

Dont worry about it, the Lumix isn't as wide as the kit on a D40 but you get alot more range out of it. (27-486mm for the lumix and 18-55 for the d40 kit) Now here's the cool thing about the lumix, you can buy other add on lenses like fisheyes, wide angles, telephoto, etc. There not the best quality glass out there but they work just fine. I bought a fisheye when mine was still working ([link]) and I loved it. There are some higher quality add on lenses for the lumix but after spending the money one them you could have just got a D40 lol. Here's some of the nice ones: [link]

Also the lumix can do panoramas in camera or you can get a computer program that stitches the images together. I'd say if your gonna seriously get into photography then go with the D40 cause eventually your gonna end up buying one but if you just want to have fun and take some nice pics then go with the cheaper, more versatile Lumix FZ28.
